The door to the locker room swung open and Randy felt his heart jump through his skin. He quickly grabbed the crumpled, wet tissues beside him on the bench and shoved them into the gym bag at his feet. He sniffled and ran his right thumb over his eyes before turning to see who had entered the once empty safe haven of the locker room.
John Cena stood with his back facing Randy, rummaging through his locker before settling on a shirt. He removed his wrestling tee over his head and tossed it on the bench behind him. “Hey Randy”, he said as he pulled a navy blue Red Sox T-shirt over his head. He turned to gather his dirty shirt and sat on the bench next to Randy as he tied his Reeboks.
Randy turned his head away from Cena and pretended to be studying something at the other end of the room. “Oh hey John”, he sniffed, “What’s going on man?” He lowered his head to inspect the floor.
“Just getting ready to head out. Are you okay Randy? You’re acting a little funky.”
“Yea, ya know…” Randy lifted his head to look at John. Normally he would leave it at that, but today he had no will to pretend.  Tears had formed in his eyes and one streamed down his face, past his nose, and landed in between his lips. He could taste the salt as he licked his lips to erase the remains of it. “No…I’m not really okay.” He opened his mouth to speak, but another tear rolled down, this time dripping from his chin.
“Oh man, what’s up? Are you crying?” He stumbled to find the words to comfort his friend. Randy and John had always been close friends, they were the bar buddies who hung out and watched games together, and the inseparable pals who made it a point to enjoy Hooters & the strip club at least once a month together. Of course, they hadn’t made it to the strip club since September, right before Randy had gotten hitched. Either way, he’d always known Randy as the tough guy, that mother fucker you didn’t mess with. He’d never seen him looking so horribly vulnerable. He felt his heart beat quicken as he fought to find the words to soothe Randy’s crying. “Is everything okay?”
“I…No…Something happened…It’s Sam,” he managed to get out a few words through the palm of his hands which were muffling his speech. As he lifted his head once more, he saw the look of shock on John’s face. John began to say Samantha’s name but Randy quickly corrected himself.
“No, it’s not Sam, she’s fine. Sorry, it’s the baby. Sam…she uh…she lost the baby.” Randy lifted a hand to his face as he covered his mouth again and let out a painful sigh filled with yet another shaking sniffle.
John immediately slid closer to Randy on the bench. He placed a hand on his shoulder and massaged it in tiny circles. Randy kept his head hung and John could feel his shoulders began to shake as the sobbing began.
“I am so sorry Randy. You’ll get through this. We’ll get through this together.” He wrapped his arm around Randy’s shoulder and let him continue to cry. At first, the sobs were long and loud. After a minute his crying slowed and his breathing regulated. He lifted his head and looked at John. John could feel his heart breaking as he saw Randy’s swollen eyes and tear-streaked cheeks. He knew how much Randy was looking forward to being a Daddy. For the past four months all he had talked about was what color they had painted the room, what he had bought for his daughter-to-be, which wrestlers she was allowed to like; the classics like Undertaker and her grandpa, Cowboy Bob Orton, of course, but none of that gimmicky shit like John Cena he has teased.
“I’m sorry”, Randy muttered as he shook his head, “I didn’t think I would take it this bad. I mean, fuck, when Sam told me she was pregnant in the first place I didn’t even want a kid. God, but after everything, I was so fucking excited to be a dad. Shit.”
“Do not apologize to me”, John pulled Randy into a hug and rubbed his back as another stream of tears glided down Randy’s face and splashed onto John’s shoulder. As the spot grew damp Randy pulled away and eyed the area.
“I got your shirt all wet”, he frowned and furrowed his brow as he rubbed at it.
“Aw, it’s nothin”, John smiled and placed a hand on Randy’s shoulder. “Listen. You’re going to be okay. You’ll get through this, I don’t know how, but you will. You’re one of the toughest guys I’ve met. I promise you’ll get through this, and so will Sam.”
Randy said nothing but only hugged John again. Resting his chin on the wet spot he had made before, he whispered into the air behind John’s head. “Thanks Cena.”
“Anytime Orton.”

Awww...that was so sweeet and sad. REally felt for Randy for losing his baby and John's just too sweet comforting him. I can't wait until the rest of them, ^.^.
